Who are we ?
The Baked Bean Company was founded by Jade and Nikko Hardrade-Grosz in 1997 with the express purpose of providing outstanding services for people with learning disabilities.
We began life as a short term summer drama project at a day care centre, but it proved so popular that the classes never stopped! We now hold up to 5 classes a day in 4 different locations throughout Wandsworth and the surrounding boroughs.
Our classes include Drama, Musical Theatre, Singing, Dance, DJing and Life Skills. We also offer holidays, club nights and a Dramatherapy service.
In 2016 The Baked Bean Company Charity launched its first two education projects.
B.I.E is a drama group made up of actors with learning disabilities, who travel around the country performing short plays designed to educate the audience about what living with a learning disability is really like. We regularly collaborate with different NHS trusts around the UK to deliver a performance or workshop based on current issues facing the NHS.
Baked Beans Education recently took over the IT classes from Wandsworth Mencap, which teaches literacy and numeracy alongside IT skills, and we are looking to add many more courses in a wide variety of subjects in the near future.
To provide outstanding services for people with learning disabilities. We will provide them with projects and groups based around theatre, drama and the arts to promote social inclusion, build confidence and gain new skills, helping to them to integrate into society.
